I’m a trial lawyer with a simple idea
I worked as a paper-based lawyer for a long time, and in 2016 I’d had enough of paper – I needed a trolley and a car just to move my materials from one place to another. A simple idea (to digitise my paper practice) was the start of a journey that unexpectedly opened avenues I hadn’t considered before, and has brought me to where I am now – working less than 50% of the hours I used to work, but not earning any less.
I’m a coach who’s practised what I preach
I’m still a trial lawyer, but I’m now also a digital efficiency coach who helps people from all walks of life (but mainly lawyers – we seem to need the help more than others!) to find more free time without sacrificing anything. I work with beginners, improvers, and experienced digital natives to assess their work practices, identify efficiency gains that can be made, and execute solutions that result in positive outcomes.

I’ve been teaching for a long time
I’ve been teaching all my life. As a child I taught other kids in my class (embarrassing, I know). As a teenager I taught sailing all over Ireland. While in college I taught students taking law school entrance exams. After college I taught big-boat sailing in the Caribbean. These days, as well as teaching at Paperless Academy for the last 4 years, I teach trial advocacy regularly. Maybe teaching is in my blood, maybe it’s not, but either way I know how to do it. I’ve done it, a lot.
Paperless Academy is already a success
…in my eyes anyway 😁 As soon as one client told me that the program had made a difference to her life, Paperless Academy was a success. Every time I get that kind of feedback it spurs me on to do more, to widen the offering, to tell more people about what I do here. It’s what keeps me going and what keeps me interested in providing this service.
